TED App for Iphone

My new favorite app for my iphone.

About a year ago I had a conversation with a friend about a website that he stumbled upon. The website featured archived talks of past and present speakers from a variety of disciplines sharing their stories to the masses. Although I found this conversation interesting I placed his recommendations in the back of my head and didn't think twice about the website until the weeks following my car accident. After my car accident I had surgery which prevented me from bending my knee for about six weeks and found myself picking up new hobbies to kill time. I decided to visit the site my friend recommended and have bee hooked on it since then. TED which stands for ( Technology Entertainment and Design) is a conference that is held each year where the brightest minds in science, music, art, and a variety of other disciplines are given 15 minutes to share their stories. I feel revamped and focused each time I listen to a new talk.

here are a few of my favorite speeches I've grown to love.

The End of Poverty Screening

last night I headed to a screening of the documentary film "The End of Poverty", at Laemmle's Sunset 5 in Hollywood. I've heard much about the film and seeing as there was a panel discussion after wards I thought it would be a good experience. The panel discussion was led by director Philippe Diaz, founder of Office of the Americas, Blase Bonpane, and philanthropist Aris Anagnos. The film, narrated by Martin Sheen documents the current struggles faced by third world countries, that must either repay off large loans to overseas investors and The International Monetary Fund, and battle with global economic markets which almost paralyze the growth and development of these nations. I found the documentary both moving and eye opening. Consider that 20% of the planet's population uses 80% of its resources and consumes 30% more than the planet can regenerate. At this rate, to maintain our lifestyle means more and more people will sink below the poverty line.

Will McFarlane Interview Posted on Photoshop Insider

I came across this after going through Scott Kelby's blog Photoshop Insider today. I'm an avid follower of both Scott Kelby's blog and David Hobby's blog strobist.com, so when I came across this it really made me think about my photography as a whole. I felt pretty drawn to this interview that was conducted by photographer Bruce DeBoer of Will McFarlane. It's a real inspiration no matter what your craft is. I highly recommend visiting the original post to read the full interview of this article. Click on the the link for the full article posted on Photoshop Insider

Live OC Magazine November Issue

Last Month I was Fortunate enough to be contacted by Live OC Magazine to do a 4 page lifestyle editorial for their November Issue. We started off at Cafe Mimosa and finished the photo shoot at The Cellar in San Clemente. We were lucky enough to enjoy some live entertainment from Jason Saudoh the Evening Piano Player that night. The Magazine is out now and is being distributed in the OC and Longbeach areas

Detour at Cabazon

This Halloween I had the pleasure of second shooting for Kristi Klemens of KLK Photography in Palm Springs. I arrived there on Friday well rested and Photographed an amazing couple with Kristi the next day at The Parker. I will be posting those amazing images soon.. But on my way back home from a relaxing weekend out in Palm Springs I had an urge to stop at one of the tourist traps in Cabazon, the Dinosaur Exhibit that was built there since I was a child watching "Pee Wee Hermans Big adventure". Its always been a favorite spot to stop and walk around, and since I happened to have my camera with me and I camouflaged in with the rest of the tourists taking photos, I snapped a few shots for personal enjoyment.
