last night I headed to a screening of the documentary film "The End of Poverty", at Laemmle's Sunset 5 in Hollywood. I've heard much about the film and seeing as there was a panel discussion after wards I thought it would be a good experience. The panel discussion was led by director Philippe Diaz, founder of Office of the Americas, Blase Bonpane, and philanthropist Aris Anagnos. The film, narrated by Martin Sheen documents the current struggles faced by third world countries, that must either repay off large loans to overseas investors and The International Monetary Fund, and battle with global economic markets which almost paralyze the growth and development of these nations. I found the documentary both moving and eye opening. Consider that 20% of the planet's population uses 80% of its resources and consumes 30% more than the planet can regenerate. At this rate, to maintain our lifestyle means more and more people will sink below the poverty line.
I love art in all shapes and forms Part of this love for creativity has led to go into photography. It is a passion that runs deep within my soul. I love looking at the ordinary and visualizing the hidden beauty that lies within the apparent.
